I was first introduced to Eastern approaches to health and wellness in my early 20's. Soon afterwards I trained in Shiatsu-Acupressure Massage at the North Eastern Institute of Whole Health and have a deep appreciation for the healing effects of this type of bodywork, not only physically but also mentally and emotionally.

In 2001, ten years after a (seemingly) minor car accident, my back 'went out' and I was unable to stand up straight for a week. The pain was excruciating and I felt at a complete loss as to what to do. I decided at this point to try acupuncture - and in combination with other healing modalities and lifestyle changes I now experience very little pain and have learned how to address it when it returns. Acupuncture, along with Chinese herbs and nutrition, have helped me resolve many additional health challenges including TMJ dysfunction, poor digestion, hormonal imbalances, anxiety, depression and insomnia.

I am a Licensed Acupuncturist (LAc) in New Hampshire and Massachusetts and am nationally accredited (Dipl.OM)  by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. I earned by Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (MAOM) at the New England School of Acupuncture in Newton, Massachusetts. I received my Bachelor of Science in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of New Hampshire.

I provide Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, based on the Five Element System, that is uniquely enhanced with an extraordinary combination of seasoned body work techniques drawing from acupressure-shiatsu, craniosacral therapy and myo-fascial/visceral release. Your session may also include cupping or guasha to help relieve pain and stiffness. We can also explore nutritional and lifestyle changes to support your personal journey to greater health and wellness.

If you'd like to learn more about acupuncture, please get in touch. I take all health related questions seriously and understand that trying acupuncture for the first time may be scary.

When you come in for your first appointment we will spend time getting to know each other to collaborate on a course of treatment that is right for you. We will address the presenting symptoms as well as begin to unfold the underlying patterns that have given rise to whatever imbalances you are experiencing.

I'm here to walk with you on your journey to your best health and well-being.

Client perspectives

I have known Viriyalila/Michelle for over 20 years and have benefited from her talents many times. She listens deeply and uses not only her knowledge but her intuition in her treatments. In addition to helping me with many physical issues, she has inspired me to continue my own bodywork education. Although we live on opposite coasts now, whenever I’m back in New England, I always make time to see her. I give her my highest recommendation!  ~Lynne Donnelly. CST

I have had so many friends and family ask about my acupuncture experience, I wanted to share here to say Michelle Racine is awesome. Michelle has been helping me with the concussion symptoms I have, the ongoing migraines, and most importantly, helping me to find peace and restorative sleep after the loss of my mom and dad. She is gentle and caring and I will forever be grateful for her place in my healing process. ~Marianne

Acupuncture has been a key part of my recovery from Lyme's Disease. I love how Michelle works to compliment other treatments - my body was better able to heal itself. It took a long time with multiple issues from the Lyme but each session was better and better. I highly recommend her. I'm looking forward to going in the future for tune-ups to stay healthy and strong. ~Maryellen.

Michelle is amazing! She has been providing the best service and is able to decode all of the messages my body is giving me. I am sleeping better and my digestion is better than it has been in years. She provides a GuaSha treatment that has improved mobility and eased pain that I have been suffering from for YEARS. I highly recommend Michelle and her practice. ~Alexis

I have been seeing Michelle for months now and have had vast improvement. She is invested in her clients, gentle and concerned for their comfort with the whole process. Alternative techniques work even for a fidgeting, talkative high energy person! ~Kasey

Michelle is a masterful acupuncturist and healer. She cares about all her clients. I have had amazing sessions and feel so much better after seeing Michelle. Her acupuncture sessions are a must have part of my pain-management treatment plan. ~Deborah
